Etymology: Longiculter: Latin, longus = long + Latin, culter = knife (Ref. 45335).

Asia: Chao Phraya basin in Thailand (Ref. 12041). Reported from the Mekong basin (Ref. 30857) The Cambodian species may be distinct from the one recorded from central Thailand (Ref. 12693).
