Vertebrae: 24 - 26. A small species of Garra with smoothly rounded snout tip, rostral lobe present, proboscis absent, predorsal region, chest and abdomen scaled, two pairs of barbels, lateral line scales 31, circumpeduncular scales 16. Uniquely distinguished by the dense patch of about 15-20 strong, conical tubercles concentrated to the rostral lobe. The shape of the central pad distinguishes G. propulvinus from most or all other Garra species, being widest posteriorly, giving the appearance of a nearly straight posterior base with a rounded anterior extension, instead of widest medially with equally rounded posterior and anterior halves.
This fish could potentially be an aquarium species (Fang, 2004, pers. Comm.).

50 = 0.5000 [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00794 (0.00354 - 0.01782), b=3.04 (2.87 - 3.21), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this Genus-body shape (Ref.

Resilience (Ref.
120179): High, minimum population doubling time less than 15 months (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref.
