Head short and top of head convex; snout short and conical; eyes small and interorbital space wide. Dorsal fin without spine, origin of it nearer to tip of snout and opposite ahead of origin of ventral fin; base of anal fin short and its outer margin truncated.
Inhabits rapid flowing streams.
