Pectoral fins with 10-12 simple and 10-13 branched rays; pelvic fins with 3-4 simple and 9-11 branched rays; origin of last pelvic rays 9.2-11.2% SL (Ref. 27732); distance between bases of last pelvic rays 2.2-2.4 times in body width at pectoral-fin origin (Ref. 42935).

Occurs in rapids and fast flowing water, under large stones (Ref. 43281).
