Similar to G. filamentosus with the long filament on the dorsal fin but instead of spots, it has bars along the sides (Ref. 48635).
Occurs in shallow inshore coastal waters on sandy bottoms and in estuaries. Maintain discrete, single species' schools (Ref. 13682).
