Ecology
Freshwater; brackish; benthopelagic; pH range: 6.5 - 7.2; non-migratory. Tropical; 22°C - 25°C (Ref. 31272)
Asia: India and Sri Lanka. Often misidentified as Aplocheilus panchax or as Aplocheilus blockii.

Max length : 6.3 cm TL male/unsexed; (Ref. 41236); common length : 4.0 cm TL male/unsexed; (Ref. 41236)
Inhabits sheltered fresh and brackish water tanks, small streams and rivulets overgrown with vegetation (Ref. 41236). Valuable for mosquito control (Ref. 6028). Not a seasonal killifish. Is difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139).
