Diagnosis

This species can be distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: abdomen completely covered with small to medium-sized, irregularly shaped plates; area in front of gill opening without plates, ventrally; head with straight sides; and head and caudal peduncle narrower. Colouration: color pattern of dorsal body is uniform light brown without transversal dark bands, mostly in the caudal peduncle (Ref. 128488).
