This species is distinguished by the following characters: D XII,10; A III, 10; pectoral-fin rays 14; scale rows above lateral line 5, below 11; pored lateral-line scales 47-48; gill rakers 6 + 1 + 12 = 19; second anal-fin spine (2AS) is much larger than 3AS, the length of 3AS 1.34-1.41 in 2AS; incisor-like teeth has five points, all points subequal in size, forming a flat cutting edge at each incisor-like teeth (Ref. 94712).
