Diagnosis

Can be distinguished from all other species of the genus Sinocyclocheilus by the following combination of characters: completely scaled body; well developed eyes; last unbranched ray of dorsal fin soft, without serration; 19-20 scale rows above the lateral line and 11-12 below the lateral line; 34-36 scales around caudal peduncle; 8-11 gill rakers; 8-9 pre-dorsal vertebrae (Ref. 76842).
