Diagnosis

Diagnosis: adipose-fin base shorter than distance separating it from rayed dorsal-fin; body depth 1.8-2.1x SL (specimens over 100 mm SL); small numerous scales; numerous cycloid scales; 68-73 scales in longitudinal line; 13 or 14 scales between lateral line and pelvic fin; 18-21 dorsal fin branched rays; 26-30 anal-fin branched rays (Ref. 2938, 81281).

Description: closely related to C. citharus (Ref. 81281).

Coloration: body silvery; fins grey, except anal fin and lower lobe of caudal fin which are red (Ref. 2938, 81281).
