Remarks Male: first dorsal and anal fins are darker. Breeding tubercles develop on the anal and pelvic rays. Black and red bands in the first dorsal fin intensify. The pelvic fins have expansive lateral flaps. Female: the bilobed genital papilla is swollen and much larger than the small flap-like papilla of the male.
