Diagnosis |
Diagnosis: body depth 4.5-6.3x and head length 4.0-5.0x SL; eye diameter 3.9-4.0x head length; scale formula 8.5-10.5/54-58/4.5-5.5; 8.5-10.5 scales between lateral line and dorsal fin origin; 54-58 scales in longitudinal series; 18 scales around caudal peduncle; 8 dorsal-fin branched rays; 13-15 anal-fin branched rays; usually 16 or 17 vertical bars on sides; known from some coastal basins in Sierra Leone (Ref. 2940, 81282). Description: gill rakers short; D:III,8; A:III,13-15; P:I,12-14; V:I,8 (Ref. 2940, 81282). Coloration: sides with 16 or 17 vertical bars, the first six rather close-set, the following more widely spaced; last three bars on caudal peduncle appear as more or less rounded spots (Ref. 2940, 81282). |
