Definition of Term

Round fish
(English) In North America, fish that have not been gutted, not cleaned, without the head, the fins and guts removed. In the UK, fish that have not been gutted are called round fish or rounders. In addition the term round fish may be used for all fish that are roughly circular in cross-section, as opposed to flatfish, rays, etc. (See also: gut, gutted fish, flatfish)
