Treatments: Controlled laboratory conditions showed that Malathion could be effective in the control of the parasite, with concentrations safe for the fingerlings (Macatula, unpubl.) (Ref. 045120).

Remarks: This parasite is considered a facultative parasite that thrives in low salinity and can survive in fresh water (Kabata 1985) (Ref. 045120).
