Comments: Type locality, spawning ponds, Bowstead’s barramundi farm, on bend of river NE of Harrison Dam, Adelaide River, NTM S.11193-005 (holotype of Periophthalmus murdyi, 3.8 cm SL male) (Ref. 83599). Known from Derby (WA) to Roper River (NT) (Ref. 76839). Also from Gulf of Carpentaria (Ref. 075154).
