Ensenada, northern Baja California (Ref. 96339). Recorded from several localities in Baja California Sur (Ref. 37955). Of secondary importance to the Mexican shark fisheries; a very common catch in Veracruz (mostly adults) and Campeche (mostly juveniles and adults); taken in smaller quantities in Tamaulipas (mostly adults), Tabasco, Quintana Roo (newborn), and Yucatan (Ref. 13186).
