Found only in west flowing river systems in the northern part of the Western Ghats (between 17-19 °N latitudes) in Maharashtra State. Known currently from eight localities in the following six west flowing river systems: Ulhas, Kal, Kundalika, Savitri, Jagbudi and Shastri (Ref. 96472).
