Type locality of the holotype of Alosa finta algeriensis: 'Algeria' (Ref. 11601). Known from Mediterranean coast (Ref. 10538, 13696). It enters permanent rivers in eastern Algeria, including Cheliff (Ref. 10538), Mazafran (Ref. 10538), Seybouse (Ref. 10538) and Lake Oubeira (Ref. 10538). Also Ref. 1878.
