Type locality, between Cape St Albans and Penneshaw (Kangaroo Island), South Australia, SAMA F 11849 (holotype of Dentiraja flindersi, 29.3 cm TL, adult male). Known only from the Investigator Strait and Backstairs Passage, off Kangaroo Island, South Australia, (35°35′ S, 137°31′ E to 35°44′ S, 138°04′ E), 24-54 m (Ref. 75646).
