Present in every great basins except the basin of the Garonne but absent from most of the atlantic and mediterranean coastal rivers except those of Provence where it should have been introduced. Associated to good quality waters but not vulnerable due to its large distribution. Registered in "Annexe III de la Convention de Berne (Ref. 40476). Also Ref. 30578.
