Known from the shallow reefs off northeastern Brazil: its type locality, the Parracho de Maracajaú, Maxaranguape and Parracho de Rio do Fogo reefs, about 7 km off the coast of Rio Grande do Norte; fringing reefs of Salvador City, Bahia; and the Abrolhos reefs, between 25 km and 61 km off the Bahia south coast (Ref. 56973). Also reported from Manuel Luiz Reefs (Ref. 57756). MZUSP 53113 (Ref. 080860).
