Recorded from the Caracu and Sao Pedro streams, both tributaries of the Paraná river. Found in the Piracicaba river (Ref. 50076) and the Uruguay River (Ref. 79585). Regarded as threatened in the state of Minas Gerais (Ref. 26603). Also Ref. 31923, 38376.
