Found only in the Western Ghats (Ref. 50614). Known from Karnataka and Tamil Nadu (Ref. 43640); Bhavani river at the base of Nilgiri Hills, Cauvery river system (Ref. 4832). Apparently only population in the Mettur reservoir survives today (Ref. 41236). Also Ref. 43641, 45255, 50614.
