Endemic to the Western Ghats (Ref. 50614). Occurs in Wynaad (Kerala) and headwaters of Cauvery river (Ref. 4832). Also found in Thirunelli puzha (Kabani river) and Vythiri river (Ref. 43638), Kakkan halla, Moyar River, Kallar tributary of River Bhavani, Tamil Nadu (Ref. 44148). Also Ref. 45255.

Status of threat: Critically endangered (Ref. 45212, 50614).
