Comments

Occurs in a small part of the Central Catchment Nature Reserve. Frequents fast flowing forest streams with acidic water and sand-gravel substrate. Relatively common in the 1960s but is now rare. Threatened mainly due to degradation of its habitat. Conservation measures include continued protection of its natural habitat and protection from illegal fish collectors (Ref. 85309).

Status of threat: critically endangered (Ref. 85350).
