Known from Tunga river system and Kohapur Satara district, Western Ghats (Ref. 4832). Also occurs in Thungabhadra river at Shimoga, Karnataka in Western Ghats; and Krishna drainage of Satara and Kolhapur in Maharashtra (Ref. 41236). Also Ref. 43641, 45255.

Status of threat: Endangered in Western Ghats (Ref. 50614).
