It is estimated that fewer than one thousand adults remain in Utah Lake. Others are reproduced artificially and released in reservoirs etc. Introduced species and environmental changes pose major threats (Ref. 35393). Considered extirpated in the wild in 1996 (Ref. 3881). Considered threatened in 2000 (Ref. 35393). Status of threat: its original form is considered endangered, probably extinct (Ref. 86798); extinct based on Criteria: 1,4 (http://fisc.er.usgs.gov/afs/) (Ref. 81264). |
