Found in Ash, Turner and Willow creeks (Pit River system) in north California. Common in small area (Ref. 5723). Distribution extends to Gosse Lake tributaries in s. Oregon (Ref. 86798) and in has been reported to be now uncommon in a small area.

Status of threat: endangered; status same as 1989. Criteria: 1,4 (http://fisc.er.usgs.gov/afs/) (Ref. 81264).
