Reported from the Mekong River and its tributaries (Ref. 9648); also from Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Nakhon Sawan, Ubon Ratchathani, Nong Khai, Khon Kaen, Bangkok, Chai Nat, Kanchanaburi, Phitsanulok and Surat Thani (Ref. 37773). Highly favoured food fish with a distinct flavour. Processed into fish balls and fish cakes. Captured from the wild for the ornamental fish trade (Ref. 6459). Outside the distributional range of the species and occurrence may be based on C. ornata (Ref. 7431). |
