Type locality of Laubuca lankensis, Mahavili River, near Manamptiya, Eastern Province and known from the lowland of Mahaweli River drainage and other parts of the northern dry zone; also of Laubuca insularis, Kalu Ganga at Pallegama and reported in the rivers and streams draining the northeast foothills of the Knuckles Range (Ref. 75997).
