Known from Lakes Ladoga (Ref. 78639) and Onega (Ref. 59043). Most abundant Coregonus species in Lakes Ladoga and Onega, with great commercial importance. In summer, mainly along coasts of southern part of Lake Ladoga and in winter, along the northern coast. Forms large aggregation in July - August in a few localities along the southern coast of Ladoga and Onega for intensive foraging, and again in late October - early November (when first ice appears) over stone bottom in southern part of lakes (Ref. 59043).
