Comments

Type locality: tributary of Kinabatangan river near Deramakot (Ref. 33021). Also recorded from the Danum Valley, lower Segama and Kuamut headwaters. Common in slower, deeper areas of streams but never abundant. Larger individuals are actively predatory and have been observed disgorging frogs and small fish when caught (Ref. 34011).
