Known from the Mekong basin (Ref. 43281). Found in Ban Hang Khone at Don Khone, 3 km below the fall line of the great waterfalls of the Mekong basin at Lee Pee (Ref. 9497), lower and middle Xe Bangfai rivers (Ref. 27732) and Tha Ngon and Tha Bo (Ref. 4792). Occurs above Pak Beng to Khoné Falls (Ref. 37772). Enters flooded forest (Ref. 9497). Common in the Mekong mainstreams as well as its tributaries, living in pools with submerged wood and shrubs (Ref. 37770). Reported to move into tributaries during the flood season to spawn (Ref. 37770). Museum: Mekong at Ban Hang Khone, just below Khone falls, CAS 96992 (Ref. 5515).
