Known from the eastern coast of northern Japan (Ref. 559). Adults were observed to migrate from January to April to around Izu Ohshima, an island off the Pacific coast of central Japan, to spawn, and the eggs and larvae are transported by the Kuroshio Current to northeastern Japan (Ref. 87089).
