Type specimen caught directly offshore from the village of Papindan, Manado Tua island, 1° 38'N 124° 43' E. First specimen seen in a fish market in this area, but not collected (Ref. 27414, 30892). Two additional specimens were observed by Fricke et al. (Ref. 33470) 360 km southwest of Manado Tua, in 155 m depth in a deep cave. |
