Found along west and southeast coast (Ref. 45255); Andaman and Nicobar Islands (Ref. 118627). Fairly common in the lower reaches of the Hooghly estuary and also in the Chilka lake, Orissa (Ref. 4832, 29108). Taken by the poorer section.
