Known from Western Ghats in Kerala, Karnataka and Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu (Ref. 41236), Madhya Pradesh and Assam (Ref. 45255). Occurs in the Cauvery river drainage (Ref. 41209). Also recorded from Ombatta swamp, Bhavani River (Ref. 44148). Also Ref. 4833, 43640, 43641.

Status of threat: Endangered (Ref. 50614).
