Comments

One of the most popular species cultured in Hong Kong (Ref. 12092). Reported from Cape D'Aguilar (Ref. 33067); and Sharp Island (Ref. 94637). Also reported from Mirs Bay, Tolo Channel, and Tolo Harbour (Ref. 126271). The species was observed on 101 to 200 occasions during 400 dive surveys on artificial reefs (Ref. 119494). Sold in live fish markets. Caught using hooks and lines (Ref. 125552). Majority of the wild caught fish being sold are still juveniles. All individuals observed in this dive survey are less than 15 cm in length (Ref. 128523). Museum: ANSP 76655; BMNH 1939.1.17.5; BPBM 18746; CAS 62423; NMW 39966, 39970; USNM 183036-37.
