Found in Zhujiang River system of Guangdong Province and Fujian Jianyang, Ninghua, Chongan (Ref. 33299). Known as "huo-shao" at Tungting Lake (Ref. 35840). Present in Pearl River (Ref. 89718). Recorded from Guilin, Yangsu of Guangxi Province; Huzhou of Zhejiang Province; Hukou of Jiangxi Province; Hunan Province:( Yuanjiang, Yuanling, Niubitan ); and Luzhou, Leshan of Sichuan Province. 1 specimen from Anbao county of Dongjiang River system (Ref. 33792).
