Occurs in northern Canada, south to British Columbia. A native fishery is existing (Ref. 52559). Reported from Perry River, Nunavut, eastern Canada (Ref. 96339). Highly esteemed food fish eaten fresh, air-dried, or smoked (Ref. 1998). Also Ref. 5723, 27547, 119194.
