Known from the Mekong basin (Ref. 12693, 37772). Found in the Great Lake and Tonle Sap river (Ref. 33813). Its numbers have declined below the Khone Falls to the Tonle Sap River and the Great Lake (Ref. 37772). Migrates downstream from May to July (Ref. 37770). Frequently taken with explosives in northern Cambodia (Ref. 12693).
