Occurs in the Mekong basin (Ref. 12693, 27732), around the Tonle Sap Great Lake and river (Ref. 36651), Kampot and Phnom Penh (Ref. 36654). Moves into flooded forests to spawn. In Tonle Sap, maximum numbers are found as it returns to rivers in November and December (Ref. 12693). Also Ref. 3902, 33813.
