Type locality, tributary to rio Maquiné, arroio Água arada, Rio Grande do Sul. Also known from the rio Araranguá basin, Santa Catarina but not collected so far in the intermediate drainages of the rio Três Forquilhas and rio Mampituba. Inhabits small creeks and rivers with shallow, clear water, lurking among the bottom rocks and stones (Ref. 40941). Also Ref. 36389. |
