Occurs in coastal drainages from Fitzroy River, southern Qld. To the Murray R., S.A., from the southeast of the main Murray/Darling/Culgoa/Codamine drainage towards the main eastern divide, and from the Darr R./Thompson R./Coopers Creek drainage flowing SW to Lake Eyre. Introduced but not reproducing in southern Tasmania (Ref. 7300, 75154). Also Ref. 44894.
