Type locality, north of Cape Lambert, Western Australia, CSIRO H 4031-06 (holotype of Okamejei leptoura, 43.7 cm TL, adult male). Known from the continental slope off Western Australia from Ashmore Reef (14°01′ S, 122°08′ E) to Cape Naturaliste (33°20′ S, 114°30′ E), 202-735 m; appears to be disjunct between Shark Bay (ca. 25° S) and the Monte Bello Islands (ca. 19° S) (Ref. 75645). |
