Comments |
Recorded from ephemeral, acidic freshwater ponds in Western Australia between Albany and the Blackwood River. During summer these ponds, each containing several hundred specimesn in 1991, may dry up completely. The fish burrow and survive in the substrate of leaves and sand. When autumn rains return, the ponds refill and the fish rapidly emerge and swim actively. Also Ref. 44894. |
