Body with four black bars on a bright yellow (in life) background, usually forming saddles along dorsal midline, and with a rounded yellow blotch on mid dorsal line in each saddle; body slender, its depth at dorsal fin origin 11-16% SL; no sexual dimorphism; black caudal basal bar absent; pelvic fin origin in front of vertical through dorsal fin origin (Ref. 51709).
Found in shallow, torrential hill streams, 0.3-1.0 m deep with gravel bottom and rocky crevices, in mixed deciduous forests, at 950-1120 m altitude (Ref. 51709).
