Comments: Type locality of the holotype of B. microbarbis: 'Lac Luhondo' (Ref. 41590). Only known from the holotype (Ref. 27626, 46152, 83445). Doubtful as valid species; could be hybrid between a Barbus and a Varicorhinus species (Ref. 27626, 35818, 46152, 83445). Should be considered as extinct after introduction of tilapia and some Haplochromis in Lake Luhondo (Ref. 35818).

Issue
Barbus alluaudi is possibly an intergeneric hybrid between the cyprinid species Barbus somereni and Varicorhinus ruwenzorii (Ref. 114315); but both could later be considered as Labeobarbus species (Ref. 108777).

Africa: only known by the holotype from Lake Luhondo in Rwanda (Ref. 27626, 46152, 83445). Should be considered as extinct after introduction of tilapia and some Haplochromis in Lake Luhondo (Ref. 35818).
