Vertebrae: 144 - 151. Brown or black head with white markings; uniformly dark brown to black body and tail; white dorsal fin. No anal fin. Anterior nostril hole without raised rim. Suborbital pores 4; second pore displaced medially when viewed from above (Ref. 27478).
Inhabits sandy bottoms, from the intertidal zone up to a depth of 17 m.
