เงี่ยงครีบหลัง (รวม): 13 - 15; ก้านครีบอ่อนที่หาง (รวม): 9-11; เงี่ยงครีบก้น 3; ก้านครีบอ่อนที่ก้น: 7 - 10; สัตว์มีกระดูกสันหลัง: 27. Lower pharyngeal bone short. Pharyngeal teeth in adult including a group of enlarged, flattened teeth. Scales of chest and belly very small, non-imbrication but contiguous. Scales of flank with rugose calculi in the exposed part. Scales on cheek in 2 or 3 series. No micro-branchiospines.
